SUMMARY

Vickie's highly accomplished career as a sculptor, teacher and author spans over thirty years. When you meet Vickie it is evident that she is still as passionate about the arts as she was when she first graduated from college.

YEAR STARTED IN THIS BUSINESS

1976

EXPERIENCE

Vickie has been published in three magazines and taught at five schools, including the highly successful Eagle Rock alternative school in Estes Park.
Vickie's art has been exhibited in numerous galleries and studios since 1978. A collection of Vickie's work is on permanent display at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.
"I became enamored with manipulating a molten material in extreme heat to form art glass objects that become elements in my art pieces. Glass has marvelously unique characteristics and is a phenomenal material. It can be transparent or opaque. It is classified not as a solid, but as a super cool liquid. In its molten state it is hot, fluid and sensual. Hot glass is so alluring, and yet you can never really touch it when you’re working with it. So, it is also, in some ways, elusive, and that is very intriguing to me. Myself, and some of my hot glass friends refer to our passion for working with molten glass as 'controlled pyromania'…and it’s awesome."
