SUMMARY
Starting off with an engineering diploma from my native England I soon realized that self-employment was more fulfilling and energizing than working for an employer. However, on arriving in the U.S. in 1986 I discovered that the network I naturally had in my home town was gone and so I worked for several systems contractors until deciding to go back to school for a teaching license.
For three years I taught JHS and I have some great memories from my short teaching tenure, and continually meeting my students as adults has been very rewarding.
During my second interaction with higher education, I was inspired by a particular architect professor to become part of the sustainable construction movement while working on my Master's in Construction Management.

EXPERIENCE
I have worked directly on nine sustainable projects and have consulted on several others in Colorado.
My consulting services include: green-building design advice, project management and LEED submittal administration.
Projects I most enjoy working on are small tenant finishes. There are a myriad of materials and techniques available in the green-building market and my role is to advise the client in choosing the appropriate product and/or technique for each project.
CURRENT PROJECT
Currently working on drafting the DeConstruct plan for the 50,00 sf Elks Lodge building in downtown Fort Collins.
The last project I completed was for Colorado State University's Atmospheric Sciences new $4 million CMMAP building.
As sustainable advisor I assisted the main contractor in understanding the processes and protocols of the LEED New Construction rating system. At project close-out I compiled a comprehensive “Statement of Sustainability” report.
