National Center for Craftsmanship Receives Funding for Arkansas DeConstruct Project

 The National Center for Craftsmanship has received initial funding to develop a substantial DeConstruct™ project at Westminster Village of the Mid-South, a retirement village, on the grounds of former Eaker Air Force Base in Blytheville, Arkansas. NCC will partner with Westminster Village and plans to deconstruct more than 300 housing units that have remained on the Air Force property since its closure in 1993.

NCC Certifies Women Deconstructors

Mountain Street in Fort Collins. Deconstruction, or the systematic dismantling
and recycling of unwanted buildings, is an emerging part of the green building

Steele's Market DeConstruct!

Beginning January 26th, the National Center for Craftsmanship is bringing our DeConstruct program to the Steele's Market at 309 W. Mountain Ave in Fort Collins, CO. Almost ten years vacant, the Steele's Market building will be DeConstructed and materials recycled to make room for new possibilities in Old Town Fort Collins.

The NCC with the help of volunteers will be on site Monday through Friday 8:00  a.m. to 4:30 p.m. until March 1, 2010. For more information about DeConstruct, or to volunteer, please visit the National Center for Craftsmanship website: www.nccraftsmanship.org

National Center for Craftsmanship at the Winter Markets

The National Center for Craftsmanship participated in the kick-off ribbon-cutting of the Winter Markets with members of City Council, DDA, and others on Saturday November 14th.
 
More than 40 vendors at each market, selling produce, eggs, meat and poultry, wine and cider, cheese, bread and baked goods, coffee, locally-made food specialties and crafts and other locally-produced gift items. It's a great way to connect with the community!
